What’s the issue?

Across the South West, 1 in 7 young people are out of education, out of work, and often out of options and in challenging situations. Many face unsafe housing, hunger, and isolation at a pivotal moment when they should be building their futures. Food is a basic right, but for many young people it is a daily struggle, layered with stigma, shame, and isolation and loneliness.

This campaign shines a light on the way nourishing food and the joy of eating together can build confidence, community and long term wellbeing for our cities’ marginalized young people, and us all.

What’s the campaign? – “Together for Joyful Resilience”

The MAZI Project is part of a community of young people, farmers, chefs, Bristol residents. Made up of people from all different backgrounds, united in a shared passion for food and equality. Join our community, by joining our events and help us spread the mission for every young person to feel love through food.

“Together for Joyful Resilience” uses food as a tool for youth justice, care, and empowerment. We’re inviting individuals, businesses and organisations to come together around shared meals, stories, and experiences to stand in solidarity with Bristol’s marginalised 16 – 25 year olds.

Through a series of events, including an activist film screening, wine tastings, three‑course dinners, bottomless pizza night, and a family BBQ, we’re creating spaces where people can eat, talk, and act together.

The campaign centres around aMAZIng members: Bristol’s young people affected by trauma and system neglect but whose resilience, strength and ambition demands better investment and support to live the life they deserve.
